Human's hand making heart shape frame over coastline

Close up on human’s hands making a heart shape finger frame on Cape Town’s landscape.

Don’t forget the following important information for your trip:

Overnight Stops: Our buses only run during the day i.e. they leave Cape Town in the morning and arrive in Port Elizabeth in the evening. Port Elizabeth and Durban are compulsory overnight stopovers.

Shuttle services run independently to Baz Bus and need to be pre-arranged by the traveller. Shuttle costs are payable to the hostel offering the service.  Accommodation: Baz Bus only collects and drops off passengers from backpacker hostels that are on the Hostel List. Accommodation costs vary from hostel to hostel. The ticket doesn’t include the cost of the accommodation.

Fur seals on Duiker Island

Republic of South Africa. Duiker Island (Seal Island) near Hout Bay (Cape Peninsula, Cape Town). Cape fur seal colony (Arctocephalus pusillus, also known as Brown fur seal)

Day Tour

This is a really fun way to see the Cape Peninsula! Vitalise your body and feed your mind with guided commentary, fabulous scenic cycling and easy hiking. After picking you up from your accommodation, we continue along the Atlantic Seaboard to Hout Bay harbour checking out the Twelve Apostles Mountains in the background.

Our enthusiastic guide will let you in on the “who’s who” of the Cape Peninsula while you travel the scenic route to Cape Point. Once in Hout Bay, an optional boat cruise to visit the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island comes highly recommended (Approximately R100.00). Otherwise browse around the harbour and check out the local crafts. Enjoy some snacks and take in the breathtaking views along Chapman’s Peak drive (subject to road conditions). Put the flap back into your flippers with a visit to the endangered (and very entertaining) penguins at Boulders Beach in Simons Town. The locals protected them and the colony grew. Now the site is a state park. The locals sometimes wonder if it has been a blessing or not. Penguins rule the beach and tend to be late night party animals!!

A healthy, energy boosting picnic lunch will be served at a lunch stop in the reserve. After a delicious picnic enjoy a leisurely stroll to the South-Western most point of Africa. The spectacular Cape Point Nature Reserve will put you on a natural high for the rest of the week!

  1. Dear Bazbus,

Do you have ticket price for segment from Port Elizabeth to Wild Spirit Backpackers lodge(WSB) and from WSB to Capetown?
I’ll be departing from Addo Elephant National Park(Addo) on the 29th of Dec to get to WSB.
Then I’m planning to head to Capetown on the 31st of Dec.
(My time is very limited in this itinerary and thus, purchasing a pass or a hop on and off ticket would be too much for me.)

I would appreciate if you can teach me how and how much it would cost for calling a shuttle service for Addo to Port Elizabeth.

Thank you for the kind answer in advance.

    • Hi Kyu, You’ll need to organise your shuttle between addo and PE with your accommodation in Addo. For example Orange Elephant Backapcker have shuttle. Direct prices for Baz Bus to do PE-Wild Spirit is R 890 and direct price from Wild Spirit to Cape Town is R1210 so your total would be R2100. If you want to go ahead with these direct prices you’ll have to buy it through our office. You can give us a call at 0214225202. Thanks a lot
